The people from Chi Heng Foundation, which we contributed to, move from village to village throughout Central China offering help to all children affected by AIDS, thereby ensuring that no child is excluded and each child’s needs are fully understood.CHF primarily focuses on paying for the children’s education and living expenses, making sure all funds are delivered directly to schools and programs by their staff. CHF does not operate orphanages or foster homes. Instead, local relatives often take in the children, allowing them to continue to grow up in their native villages. To further decrease their sense of social stigma and isolation, CHF places the children in schools that purposefully integrate the orphans with children not affected by HIV/AIDS. These efforts aim to give orphans a stronger sense of community and belonging.

This relates to people suffering form long-term mental illnesses, for example, schizophrenia, depression, bipolar disorder, schizoaffective disorder, etc. Thanks to trips and other free-time acitivites for which trained supervision is neccessary, they can be among "healthy"people, which is important for their inclusion in society.

Music and sound therapies for deaf children

For pupils of the Speech Therapy School, we provided funding of individual music and sound therapies. Those therapies were applied to children with communication disorders ( others, which leaves him depressed. Another autistic boy avoids situations in which he should use his voice as the spoken language has not been developed yet. During the therapies children learn to express their emotions through sounds or musical instruments.

The project organized by the Regional Science Library in Liberec, entitled "Children read to blind children", which we have supported, offers visually-imapaired or otherwise hadnicapped children unable to read themselves an audio recording of Alena Ježková´s book Dračí polévka (Dragon Soup). The collection of audio books in the Czech Republic is very small and books by contemporary authors for preschool children are unobtainable. The CD will be distrubuted to special schools, institutuions and libraries for the blind.

The project we have supported organizes trips sports activities, cultural events or visits of the museums, zoos nad the Botanic Garden.

Special Elementary and Nursery School in Turnov is attended by children with several mental or physical disabilities combined with other disorders, including autism, auditory and visual impairment and epilepsy, as well as for children with hyperactivity and anxiety issues. Such children are entitled to have their assistants with. We have therefore provided funding to cover these assistants for one whole month.

Jizerský Ski Club Desná

his club focuses on Ski Jumping and the Nordic combined. The club is attended by children. Some of these sportsmen are already members of representative tems. Two girls from this club were even a part of the team that won gold medals in The Winter Olympic Fest of the Youth in Romania, February 2013. Our financila aid will be used to cover the costs for participiation in races and for purchase of sports equipment.

This association is based in an old building in the city centre. Our doubled contribution can help to insulate the building to save on heating costs. There are 28 mentally handicaped persons working in the protected workshops and four new services of social prevention for Liberec District are also provided here. The building is also the seat of other organizations that help disabled people. In average, the help centre is attended by 60 people from the target group every day.
